On the Home Farm. St. Thomas, ON | Wedding Photographer

It was such an honour to photograph Jeff & Christine’s beautiful country wedding this year. The ceremony and reception were held at the groom’s home farm where they married in front of the generational farm house and cleared out the barn to hold a lovely reception. Here are a few memories from that day.

One of my favourite details from the day- guests sat on hay bales covered in vintage quilts :)

The barn was transformed into a stunning reception hall and no detail was overlooked. Christine and her mom scoured thrift stores for months to ensure that everything was just right. The whole day was filled with personal, handmade touches that truly reflected the couple and their family and friends.

I’m so happy these two are joining my 2015 wedding lineup!

They are awesome to work with and oh-so adorable! For change of location we decided to go to the groom-to-be’s family farm and I’m so glad we did. I even learned that that’s where they got engaged!

I can’t wait for your wedding Jenna & Matt! See you next year!

Young Love. Waterloo, ON | Couples and Engagement Photographer

This session was jam-packed full of newness for me.

Firstly, I had never met Andrea and Chris before. And they weren’t one of my typical wedding couples; ready for their engagement photos. They had been to together for 3 years and Andrea thought it would be nice to surprise Chris with a photo session; they had never had their photos done professionally before. Secondly, I had never shot in Uptown Waterloo before, ¬†making it my first photography outing and forcing to me “fly by the seat of my pants” (which I kind of like ūüėČ ).

Fresh faces, fresh locations. But the one thing I ALWAYS try to express is the CONNECTION and did they ever do that wonderfully.

Andrea and Chris were SO easy to work with and I think it shows in the photos. Their happiness and comfort and affection shine through every photo. There is an ease to these photos like they were letting me see into their relationship, if only for an hour. The truth is, the location, lighting, outfits, etc. didn’t matter in this session because they let themselves and their relationship show through it all.

It was a pleasure photographing this lovely couple and I hope I will get to do it again in the future. And who knows? Maybe next time they will be one of my wedding couples…

Brand New. Aylmer, ON | Newborn Photographer

Maybe it’s because her mommy and daddy are good friends of mine. Maybe it’s because she has the cutest, roundest face. Maybe it’s because you can tell how much he loves her.

But this photo gets me.

Congrats to the new parents; I’m looking forward to all of the years ahead with our littles.

Warmer Weather. St. Thomas, ON | Engagement Photographer

I am so happy to finally get these photos out now that the snow is long behind us. J & M were an absolute pleasure to photograph and you could really see how much they love each other. Congrats you two and I can’t wait to see you on ¬†your wedding day in the warmer weather.

Catching Up. Ancaster, ON | Family and Child Photographer

It’s been a BUSY spring but I’m not complaining. Although, it has put me very behind on my blogging. So in an attempt to actually keep up with this blog, I will post all ¬†winter sessions¬†so we can move on to the much more lovely and enjoyable spring.

This is Dexter. He turned one recently, okay not THAT recently; there was still snow on the ground. However, no amount of gloominess outside could have stopped hime from enjoying that cake!

Summer. I can feel it!

I hope everyone had a fantastic long weekend! My family and I made the most of the beautiful weather and the kids actually got to play in the sprinkler!

If you would like to book a session for this summer, please contact me as soon as possible as things fill up very quickly once the beautiful weather gives all a gentle reminder of  our fondness for family fun and the outdoors!

I’ll leave you with a shot of my kids from this gorgeous holiday weekend. This picture is how I want my kids to remember their childhood.

Mother. Aylmer, ON | Family Photographer

In honour of Mother’s Day this past weekend I put together a few images of a recent mother/daughter session. It’s easy to see the love between these two.

Love is in the Air. Elmira, ON | Engagement Photographer

I’m SO excited to share this engagement session because it happens to be two people who are very special to me: my brother-in-law and his fianc√©! We had so much fun together the day of the session, the light was lovely and thanks to a lifetime of history (okay, half a lifetime) there were no awkward moments or miscommunications. This is completely and genuinely THEM. I can’t wait for the big day Kourt & Jer- love you guys! A special thanks to Old Goat Books http://www.oldgoatbooks.com/Welcome_to_Old_Goat_Books.html for letting us photograph in there!
